Who Am I?
Hi there! I’m just a person who’s deeply in love with stories — especially the ones that stick with you long after you’ve turned the final page.
Books have always been a constant in my life. Whether I’m curled up on the couch, camping, staying up way too late with a good thriller, at a coffee shop, or traveling on the Alaska Marine Highway with a Coke Zero in hand, I’m always chasing that feeling — the moment when a story truly lingers. When the characters feel real, the emotions hit hard, and you find yourself thinking about the plot days (or weeks) later. That’s the kind of storytelling I live for, and that’s what inspired the name of this site.
Here, you will find the novels that fascinate me — the ones that made me feel something, even if that feeling was frustration, heartbreak, awe, or joy. I don’t claim to be a professional critic, at all — just an honest reader who loves to talk about books, especially those that leave a mark. You’ll also find a mix of genres in here, but I tend to gravitate toward myth retellings, psychological thrillers, emotionally complex fiction, and stories with strong, layered characters. I’m especially drawn to books that offer fresh perspectives, challenge expectations, or shine a light on voices we don’t hear often enough.
You might be wondering why I chose to invest my time, energy, and money into building this website. Well, here’s the honest answer: somewhere along the way, I traded in my books for my phone. At first, I didn’t even notice it happening — it was just a habit. But over time, that habit pulled me into a space that felt unfamiliar. Scrolling became my escape, but it slowly turned into a trap — one filled with comparison, jealousy, and this quiet, constant ache that I wasn’t enough. Social media also turned my body into a project I could never finish. Every glimpse of myself became a reminder of what I lacked, not of what I had to be grateful for. But what hit hardest was realizing that it wasn’t just stealing my time and identity — it was distancing me from the person who I am supposed to love most: Jesus Christ. That’s when I knew something had to change.
Choosing to spend my time in novels and writing again shifted something in me. I feel more grounded, more at peace, and much more like myself. This site is a reflection of that change — a space where I get to write about something that makes me happy without the voice of an algorithm, or the quiet lies of comparison, but something real — something that draws me back to truth.
I sincerely hope my reviews help you find stories that pull you in — and maybe even gently remind you what it is like to just be with yourself again.
So if you’re looking for your next read and strive for thoughtful (and sometimes chaotic) book reviews, or just a fellow reader who loves discussing the stories that linger — you’re in the right place.
Thank you for being here, and happy reading. 💫
